Stop Hiding Your Toes In Shame! Two Natural Ways To Get Rid Of Foot Fungus

by Stephen Silva

Do you hide your feet away in shame because of toenail fungus? Toenail fungus presents itself with pain, inflammation and yellowing of the toenail. The toenail can also become hard and start crumbling if not treated immediately. There are several reasons that toenail fungus develops. Over moisturizing, instability of the skin's natural pH balance and sweat buildup are just a few examples. Fortunately, there are several tricks of the trade that you can use right from home.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is a natural astringent and is a great line of defense when trying to get rid of infections and fungus. There are two ways that you can use apple cider vinegar to cure your toenail fungus. You can drink it or you can soak your foot in it. Soaking your feet in the solution works faster and you don't have to taste it.

Mix one-fourth cup of apple cider vinegar and one-fourth cup of Epsom salts into a large bowl of hot water. Let the water cool until it is comfortable enough to put your feet in. Soak your feet in this solution for thirty minutes, twice a day. This routine will kill the fungus and you will start seeing the results within a week.

Tea Tree Oil

What is the best way to kill fungus? With a fungicide. Tea tree oil is all natural and is full of fungicidal and antiseptic properties that will eat the fungus infection from the inside.

To use tea tree oil, you should first make sure that the area surrounding the infected toe is clean. Washing the area with a little cotton swab of rubbing alcohol will do just fine. Apply a four to six drops of diluted tea tree oil onto the infected area and let is seep in for about ten minutes. Next, gently wash the area with a washcloth. Repeat this routine once daily until you begin to start seeing results. After that, continue using the tea tree oil for another three weeks to ensure the toenail fungus doesn't regrow.

Because tea tree oil is so strong, it is best if you dilute it before applying it to your skin. Mixing tea tree oil with olive oil is good enough to do the trick.

Don't just hide your feet from the world because of unsightly toenail fungus. Instead, combat the problem with natural home remedies to not only cure the infection, but all ensure that it doesn't come back. Contact a business, such as the Oregon Foot Clinic for more information.
